Big Boy's Toy

Big Boy's Toy This is one absolutely amazing remote controlled [RC] model airplane. Not only did they build its jet engines, but included a retractable landing gear, And built it into a fully scaled model of the SR-71 "Blackbird" that flies just like the real McCoy. This SR-71 model was built by an Engineer / RC enthusiast in Germany , and is certainly one awesome toy. Plane Driven

http://planedriven.com/main/ Plane Driven was conceptualized and founded by Trey Johnson after recognizing the benefits of a roadable aircraft.  Pilots who encounter inclement weather that prohibits continuous travel to their destination have desired a vehicle that could overcome this challenge. Over the past year the Plane Driven build team and engineers have worked on developing the unique design of the PD-1. The PD-1 is designed to perform as an aircraft first and a vehicle second.  By incorporating a movable and auxiliary drive pod, the plane maintains its original center of gravity.  During the transition, the wings rotate back along the side of the fuselage, the tail hinges and vehicle controls are quickly snapped into place. A kit is in design for the Glasair Sportsman.  Pilots who are interested can contact Plane Driven today to find out more information.

Texas Racing Results from Tim Sparks

Image
I was informed that I sent the last one without the pictures I'll try again. This is my 237 MPH model airplane used in racing. It is a powered by a 200CC twin cly engine developing about 30 HP. I placed second with it at the Texas race last weekend (25-27 Jun) in Herne TX. It was unbelievably hot with heat indexes around 110F. Suffice it to say it was quite a challenge for me and my caller Bobby Slaughter, I posted a personal best time of 1:20 seconds for the course (3.6 miles) against some of the best pilots in the world. For more info on this type of racing, www.usraifo.org http://www.usraifo.org/ All the best, Tim
