fly it like a video game

The reason that Boeing did not adopt the sidestick controls was based on the preference of chief pilots from the first eight carriers that had bought the 777. All carriers since that are buying and have bought Boeing commercial airliners since prefer yoke controls in the cockpit. This was confirmed in a conversation between Alan Mulally and myself when he was president of Boeing Commercial. Here is the reason why.   Letter of the Week: Airbuses Fly "Like a Video Game" I would like to offer my comments and perspective with regard to the Air France Flight 447 accident . I have been a A-330 captain since 2003 and have over 4500 hours in the aircraft. While many A-320 pilots undoubtedly have more series time, I believe this probably makes me one of the most experienced A330 pilots in the world. When asked how I like the aircraft, I tell people that there is likely no easier airplane to take over an ocean, and that the systems design and presentation is superb. Th...

Fwd: crazy navy pilot

Navy pilots are a little bit crazy!!!!!  Maybe big time crazy!!!!! But still the BEST. Very Good LSO, DARN GOOD PILOT.  Real Pro!  Eternal Vigilance is the Price of Liberty This is a Navy helicopter landing.   Imagine catching up to a ship moving into the wind at 20kts with a gusty 30 knot headwind and gusts moving over the cabin at 50+.  Stopping and pitching up and down 15' or more,  these pilots have their work cut out for them,  syncing these movements are just about impossible, and this is just a test to see if the machine is capable.          VIDEO ONLY:  NO SOUND! http://www.prismdefence.com.au/index.htm -- ~~/)

Blue Angels on YouTube

Image
Boy , I hurt just thinking of the G's they pull in some of the maneuvers.  WOW Blue Angels show on youtube. Because it is HD, it takes a time to load. Great perspective with much of it filmed from the cockpit.  You see the formation then see it from the pilot or camera  view. It is in HD; hope your computer can handle it.  This was recorded in Pensacola FL.   And El Centro , CA http://www.youtube.com/watch_ popup?v=W6tB8Lf7YoU
