This just in from the EAA Chapter 650 Chef Edward.
If you look at Social flight website we are listed there as well. Based on forecasts it is possible that we will be enjoying a sprinkle but we will try and setup outside. Rumor has it there will be a spotted cow sighting from Wisconsin. 
It will be a game day decision.

Saturday, October 18th

 

Activities kick off around 10:00–10:30 AM — chili cooking will begin then with coffee as usual.
The best chili is made the same way good ol' vintage taildraggers fly — low and slow!

 

Meal served around 12:00 PM
Enjoy chili, chicken wings, and plenty of tailgate spirit!
Ambient football will be on the TV to set the fall mood.

 

Freewill donations are appreciated to help cover meal costs.
A side dish to pair with the chili and wings is accepted too.
Bring along any beverages of your liking!

 

The IU game kicks off at 3:30 PM, and activities will continue through the afternoon.
All are welcome to stop in or head out as you please!
We'll officially wrap up after the IU football game.
(And for our fellow Boilermakers, don't worry — your game will be on too!)

A Saturday at the Club House

Some of you are aware that we were attempting to do some Young Eagle flights  tomorrow morning. That fell through since the organization we were working with had a change of heart, so it will be business as usual for the EAA 650 Saturday morning hangar flying session at the club house.  For those of you who were weren't aware Jerry received his Wright Brothers Master Pilot award given by the FAA for pilots who have flown for over 50 years of accident/incident free flying.  This was a surprise ceremony following Jerry's presentation on flying in Vietnam complete with training aids! Jerry also prepard a breakfast casserole as well as a birthday cake with ice cream since it was just a few days past his birthday. Here is a press release I sent out to the local papers. Taylorcraft on a trailer Update

 Pre Staged the Taylorcraft for going to the paint booth. Due to an equipment issue at the painting facility there is a delay in getting the T-Craft painted. Apparently the type of paint used to paint the aircraft requires a specific type of mask the painter must use and they do not have one. The mask has been ordered and will be here next week. Our hope is that we can move the aircraft to the paint shop late next Thursday or early on Friday. The aircraft is loaded on the trailer and ready to go so once we get the OK from the paint shop we will deliver the aircraft. The painter has agreed to paint the wings and the fuselage on the same weekend so we can get everything painted at the same time. All the small pieces along with the paint supplies have been delivered to the paint shop so there should not be any further delays.
