Begin forwarded message: From: Tim Sparks <timsparks35@gmail.com> Date: November 7, 2025 at 14:41:04 EST Subject: Chapter update If you missed it, three weeks ago Chef Edward prepared a great pot of Chili while we discussed the world affairs at the EAA Chapter 650 HQ.  I added our event on socialflight.com  and were able to attract a fly-in specifically for our event. In addition we posted our announcements at the FBO's and had a pilot from a fractional jet that was waiting the football game come up for a visit.  It was wonderful to see new folks in our midst.  Then your scribe noticed on Socialflight.com destinations nearby. So I arranged and announced to you all about a Friday fly out to Huntingburg (HNB) airport. I called ahead and they confirmed they had a crew car for our use. Two airplanes made the 52 mile flight (non stop)  to HNB. Five of us piled into the crew car for the drive to Jasper for dining at the German restaurant, Schnitzelbank. Gr...

YE Rally Debrief and Chapter news

Image
As you already know, John Spain sent out an email right after our Young Eagle Rally event. Thank You all for making this a great event! It was fun to offer rides to the kids here at BMG! 5 Pilots and their airplanes volunteered to give 31free rides to the youth of the area! Our ground volunteers made sure everyone was safely escorted on and off the ramp for this event. Kids were flown and as far as I know no one left disappointed. We did have some technical issues getting up and running the day of the event, but our "Mr. Laptop," Todd Kuebelbeck was able to make it happen. 31 flights! My goal was a safe event and all who wanted to ride did so. At a post event meeting with the airport all they said was "all I saw were smiles!" A flight isn't done until the debrief is complete, this is fundamental to all things in aviation. I would like to have a followup meeting this Saturday (27Sep) at 1000 so we can discuss lessons learned (relearned) from our Rally. If you ha...
